| This is a lovely walk in every season in that it winds along a made-up road. The route passes by Djeun where there is a television relay station – a panoramic point above the Marmore river and looking up at Punta Tsan. Continue to Ponty where, at the foot of a steep wall of rock, rises a chapel much loved by the people of Torgnon. It’s a poetic place and is situated along the road towards Petit-Monde. These two hamlets, with their stone and wood houses and old mill, preserve an old-world charm and are something of a little world of their own. | ||

| To the Lake and Refuge of Tsan (m. 2416 e 2482) 3 hrs 30 mins from Châté From the village of Châté climb up the mule track taking you to Châtelard. The route continues as far as the little bridge of Lodetor. From there the path rises across to the left and then for a while picks up the farm road again, leaving it 300m after the Château pasture. Now the path climbs quite steeply past the Crotte de Loup pasture and after an hour reaches the Tsan refuge, to be found on the bank of the lake of the same name in sight of the Tsan summit. |
